Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel’s statue, also known by the name Statue of unity, was inaugurated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on 31 October 2018, on the eve of the 143rd birth anniversary of Sardar Patel. The Statue of Unity is now declared as the world’s tallest statue.

This bronze statue is truly an engineering marvel. The monument stands near the Narmada Dam, in the middle of Narmada River, approximately 3.2km at the Sadhu Bet. Statue of Unity is also considered as one of the finest places to visit near Ahmedabad. Tourists from Ahmedabad visits this place during weekend often and spends quality time over there. How to Book Tickets for Statue of Unity?

Tickets can be booked via official website – www.soutickets.in or android / iOS mobile applications. You can book it on the spot but I strongly recommend you book your ticket in advance to avoid last minute rush.

  • There is Free Entry for the children having age of 0-3 years.
  • Rs 90 is the ticket cost for the children having age of 3-15 years.
  • Rs 150  is the ticket cost for Adults (per person). This includes visit of Valley of Flowers, Sardar Sarovar Dam and Sardar Patel Memorial Museum and Audio-visual Gallery and bus service.

Observation Deck View Fees (SoU viewing Gallery ticket)

  • There is Free Entry for the children having age of 0-3 years.
  • Rs 230 is the ticket cost for the children having age of 3-15 years.
  • Rs 380 is the ticket cost for Adults(per person). This includes visit of Observation Deck, Valley of Flowers, Sardar Sarovar Dam and Sardar Patel Memorial Museum and Audio-visual Gallery and bus services.

Trains to Reach Statue Of Unity (Kevadia)

Kevadiya railway station is the nearest railway station to reach the statue of unity. On 17th January 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 8 trains from the different regions of the country to reach Kevadia. It makes it easier for the tourist to reach the Statue of Unity and nearby places. These 8 regions include Ahmedabad, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh‘s Pratapgarh, and Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa.

1. Jungle Safari Park

Jungle Safari Park

It is also known as Sardar Patel Zoological Park which is located just 2 km away from the Statue of Unity, this is the perfect place to visit with your family. It has more than 1500 Birds and Animals and almost a total of 62 species of them. These species include fauna from Africa, Asia, Australia, and America. This park also has India’s largest ‘Walkway bird dome’ through which you can see numerous birds.  There is an entry fee, which is ₹ 125 for kids and ₹ 200 for adults. It will be started for trial basis from 18th February 2020 and with the help of public reviews, further improvements will be done.

2. Sardar Sarovar Dam

Situated 3.8kms from the Statue of unity; it is a gravity dam on the Narmada river, that supplies four Indian states, i.e. Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Maharastra and Rajasthan. Regarded as one of the largest dams in the world, it is a good place for outdoor activities, like hiking, sighting birds and crocodiles and exploring the mountain ranges.

Kabirwad – is famous for its huge Banyan tree and Kabir Temple.

5. Shoolpaneshwar Wild Life Sanctuary

situated just 105kms from the statue of unity, spreading over an area of 607.70 sq km, this sanctuary harbors sloth bear, leopard, Rhesus macaque, Chausinga, Barking deer, Pangolin, Herpetofauna, migratory birds, flying squirrels etc. It is one of the best-forested areas of Gujarat and Rajpipla trees dominate the sanctuary. For adventure lovers, this is surely one of the top places to visit near statue of unity.

6. Shoolpaneshwar Mahadev Temple

6 kms from the Statue of Unity is this beautiful Mahadev temple. Besides offering prayers in the temple, there are lot more things to be done nearby, like trekking, hiking, sightseeing along the banks of the river and even exploring wildlife in the nearby Shoolpaneshwar Wild Life Sanctuary.

7. Ninai Waterfalls

can be reached travelling 101kms from the statue of unity. This 30+ feet waterfall is located in Dediapada and gives picturesque location to the visitots. It gives the sight of Dediapada’s beautiful forest ranges besides Shoolpaneshwar wildlife sanctuary.

8. Vishal Khadi Eco Campsite

7kms from the statue of unity, this campsite is surrounded by Karjan forest area, Dediyapada forest area and Dang forest area. Other nearby attractions include the Fort of Dabhoi, the bathing ghats of Chandod and Garudeshwar on the river Narmada, the Jain temples of Jagadia and the waterfalls.

9. Valley of Flowers

just at a distance of 2.4kms from the statue of unity is this wonderful Valley of Flowers, that contains over 100 variety of flowers, climbers, bamboos and colourful grasses. The valley also has two beautiful lakes. Other attractions include natural treks like Reva Trek, Sadhu Trek, Vainkutth Baba Trek, Sardar Trek, and Ashwasthama Trek and Adventure Park, Garden of Five Senses, Selfie with Statue, Sardar garden etc.

10. Dediapada

Last but not the least on our list of best places to visit near statue of unity is Dediapada. It can be reached after travelling for 64.6kms from the statue of unity. This district has variety of flora and fauna and gives excellent trekking and camping options to attract the tourists.       Hello Sagarbhai,

      When I visited Statue of Unity before Covid Lockdown with my father, there was a facility of wheelchair which we used at that time. I am sure the same facility is still available at Statue of Unity.
