Thankgrang park

Thangkharang Park is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Cherrapunji, Meghalaya. This park is located just 10 km away from the main town of Sohra (Cherrapunji). Maintained by the State Forest Department. Known for its amazing views of Bangladesh hills and the stunning Kynrem Falls. It offers a peaceful and natural environment for visitors. The park is full of greenery, deep valleys, and open spaces, making it a great place for a picnic with family, friends and nature lovers.

What to see and do at the park:

1. Kynrem Falls Viewpoint: Enjoy a stunning view of the three-tier Kynrem Falls, one of the highest waterfalls in Meghalaya.
2. Ka Khoh Ramhah (Mothorp Rock): The park also gives a clear view of the famous giant rock pillar locally known as Ka Khoh Ramhah or Mothorp Rock.
3. Bangladesh Hills: On clear days, you can see the wide land of Bangladesh from the park.
4. Beautiful Valley Views: amazing sights of deep valleys and cliffs around Sohra.

Visitor Information:

1. The entry fee for Thangkharang Park is ₹20 per person for adults.
2. The park is open daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. And it is closed on Wednesdays.
3. Note: The park will remain closed on every Monday.

Best Time to Visit:

1. October to April for clear skies and wide views.
2. Monsoon months (June–September) to see waterfalls in full flow, but heavy rain may limit visibility.
