Salher Fort

Salher fort is located at Gujarat and Maharashtra border and the nearest location is Waghambe village or you can reach Salher wadi village to start your trek for Salher fort. Mumbai to Salher fort distance is 290KM and the route you can take via NH160 Nashik. If you are travelling from Gujarat, you can choose route via Don hill station.

The name "Salher fort" is given as it is located near Salher village of Satana tehsil in Nashik district of Maharashtra. The fort is located on Sahyadri mountain range and is considered as second highest fort in Maharashtra.

Surat to Salher fort distance is just 175KM and will take around 4 hours if you take SH174 via Bardoli – Bajipura – Taparwada – Jamlapada – Ahwa – Don and Saher Fort. Please note that, this route is passes through Purna wildlife sanctuary hence, make sure you check with forest department about route.

The best time to do Salher fort trek is after monsoon as the entire mountain range will give you amazing lush green view. You can plan this trek after monsoon and in winter. The trek is not very difficult but yes, you must require complete physical fitness as there are few points which are difficult.
