Festivals Celebrated at Kamakhya Temple

Ambubachi Mela

1. Ambubachi Mela is the biggest and most special festival of Kamakhya Temple. It is held every year in the month of June. Devotees believe this is the time when the Goddess undergoes a yearly cycle of nature, and the temple remains closed for a few days. 
   When the temple reopens, thousands of pilgrims gather to take blessings. It is one of the most unique festivals in India.

Deodhani/Devadhwani Mela (Manasa Puja)

1. This festival takes place every year in the month of July or August. It is dedicated to Goddess Manasa, the serpent goddess. The Deodhani dancers perform to the beats of drums and cymbals, showcasing ancient traditions that have been followed for centuries. Visitors find this festival very exciting and culturally rich.

Durga Puja

1. Durga Puja is celebrated grandly at Kamakhya Temple every year, generally in September–October. The temple is beautifully decorated with lights and flowers.
