Velas is a small village located in the Ratnagiri district of Maharashtra. The beach at Velas is known for being a hatching site for Olive Ridley sea turtles. During turtle hatching season, the beach gets busy with people of all ages and interests. Some take photos, some play, and kids explore the sand. Even though we didn't see any turtle eggs hatch, it was nice to watch people enjoy the beach as the sun set.
