Kalo dungar is a beautiful hill station located near Khavda village of Kunchh and a must visit place near Dhordo tent city. I have been to this place and stayed overnight - Yes, it was great experience staying there. Especially experience the beautiful sunrise in the morning where there is no tourist and just you and mountain. The Dattatreya temple and Ashram is the major attraction at Kalo dungar. If you are visiting Dhordo, plan night stay here and you will not regret.

Kalo dungar which is also known as black hill is the tallest peak in Kutch district of Gujarat. Located at 462 Mt heights, it is the best place for panoramic views of the Rann of Kutch. Kalo dungar is located at just 90 KM from Bhuj city and can be easily accessible via GJ SH 45/NH341highway. Apart from its height and views, Kalo Dungar is situated north of the village of Khavda and gives visitors a chance to see the vast white landscape of the Great Rann.
From the base of the hill, a short 15-minute drive takes you to the India Bridge, which connects northern Kutch to the mainland. The area is under army supervision, and photography is restricted. The Indo-Pak border lies about 40 km north from here.
You can have a divine experience at 400 years old Dattatreya temple located at Kalo Dungar. It offers such nice accommodation and food. People staying in small villages around Kalo dungar have a great respect for this temple and have worshiped Dattatreya bhagvan since long.
Legends say that Lord Dattatreya once stopped here and found starving jackals. He offered them his body to eat, which kept regenerating as they ate. Even today, priests at the temple prepare cooked rice for jackals in the evening, continuing this centuries-old tradition.
