The India Gate is a war memorial of 82000 soldiers who died during 1914 - 1921 in the First World War in France and is located in New Delhi.

India Gate Delhi is one of the most well-known monuments. India Gate's foundation stone was laid in 1920, and the structure was presented in 1933. The height of India Gate is 42m (134.4ft) tall and 9.1m wide. The India Gate was built by Edwin Lutyens, and was dedicated to all Indian soldiers of the British Army who died in World War I. Another memorial, the Amar Jawan Jyoti, was added later and was dedicated to soldiers who died in the 1971 Indo-Pakistan war.

The India Gate is surrounded by beautiful green grounds, a popular picnic spot in the afternoons and evenings of winter and summer. Morning and evening walkers also use the wide roads surrounding India Gate. There is also a small pond nearby where boating can be enjoyed.
