The Jama Masjid in Delhi is one of India's most magnificent mosques. It is the perfect example of Mughal architecture. Shah Jahan, India's fifth Mughal king, constructed this mosque. The mosque's construction began in 1650 and took six years to finish. After establishing his new capital in Delhi, Shah Jahan built the mosque as the major site of prayer (he relocated there from Agra). It was finished in 1656 by almost 5,000 workers.
