About Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is located in the centre of Agra, which is roughly 204 kilometres south of Delhi, India's capital. The Taj Mahal is an important part of the Indian tourism sector since it is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the world's landmarks that draws a large number of tourists each year. The Taj Mahal was built by Shah Jahan, the Mughal Emperor, in memory of his wife Mumtaz in the 17th century. The Taj Mahal took 21 years to build (from 1632 to 1652), with over 20,000 labourers labouring night and day. Taj Mahal's architecture is really amazing. The Taj Mahal is made up of white marble. The Taj Mahal was designed by Ustad Ahmad Lahauri, a Persian architect.

Taj Mahal Timings and Ticket Price:

Entry price is INR 50 for Indians, INR 1100 for foreigners or NRIs, and INR 540 for SAARC/BIMSTEC guests.

The Taj Mahal visiting hours are one hour before sunrise to 45 minutes prior to sunset. On Fridays, the Taj Mahal is closed to the general public. Other than that, it is always open.
