Located at the southern end of Kutch district in Gujarat, Mandvi Beach lies close to the Gulf of Kutch and is not far from Bhuj. The golden-brown sand and calm surroundings make it a peaceful place for visitors who want to relax and enjoy nature.
Mandvi developed as an important port town near the mouth of the Rukmavati River. It was established by the Maharao of Kutch and became a centre for sea trade. Skilled Kharva families lived here and built wooden ships inside a fortified area, parts of which still remain today.
