Recently I visited Sudarshan setu bridge for the first time and it was such a great experience as I always traveled to Beyt Dwarka using boat before. It is not just a bridge but for me, it is really a miracle because building construction on sea area is very challenging. A must visit place if you want to experience the civil marvel in India.

About Sudarshan Setu Beyt Dwarka, Okha, Gujarat

The Sudarshan Setu bridge, located at Bet Dwarka is considered the longest cable-stayed bridge in India. Inaugurated on 25th February 2024 by Indian Prime Minister Shi Narendra Modiji, the bridge is now providing easy and speedy access to Bet Island. Sudarshan Setu bridge is spread over 2.32 kilometres over the sea, helping around approximately 8,500 residents and two million annual pilgrims visiting Bet Dwarka. The name “Sudarshan” comes from Lord Krishna’s weapon, the Sudarshan Chakra. 

If you visited Beyt Dwarka before, you know that the boat ferry was operated to reach at the island during specific hours of the day. But after building this bridge people staying at Beyt Dwarka island can now commute anytime of the day without waiting for boat. It has also provides great opportunity to students staying at bet Dwarka can now travel to Okha or any nearby cities with motor-able transportation.

The bridge has four lanes for vehicles and footpaths for people. Along the way, you can see Wonderful paintings and religious messages from the Bhagavad Gita. The bridge help pilgrims and tourists travel safely and comfortably. It also improves road travel and supports religious tourism in the area.
