Airavatesvara Temple is a famous Hindu temple located in Kumbakonam, Thanjavur District, Tamil Nadu. The temple was built in the 12th century CE by the Chola king Rajaraja II. This temple is a mention in the UNESCO World Heritage Sites. With the two other famous Chola temples. The first temple is Brihadeeswara Temple, and the second temple is Gangaikondacholisvaram Temple—a group called the Great Living Chola Temples.

The Airavatesvarar temple is one of eighteen large Hindu temples in the Kumbakonam area. It is mostly committed to Lord Shiva, but it also has artwork and shrines related to Vishnu, Goddess Shakti, and the saints of the Shaivism Bhakti movement.

Made in the Dravidian style with beautiful stone artwork and paintings. The temple looks like a chariot with stone wheels and horses and artwork of many gods from Hindu stories, like Indra, Agni, Varuna, Vayu, Brahma, Surya, Vishnu, Durga, Saraswati, Lakshmi, Ganga, Yamuna, Subrahmanya, Ganesha, Kama, and Rati.
