Pratapgad Fort is a mountain fort constructed by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1656. The fort is located 24 km from Mahabaleshwar in the district of Satara. This fort played an important role in the battle between Maharaja Shivaji and Afzal Khan.

This fort is divided into two major parts: upper fort and lower fort. The upper fort is constructed on the top of the hill, including the Bhavani Temple and the statue of the Shivaji Maharaj. The lower fort expands along the southern and eastern sides of the hill.
