Howrah Bridge is the famous symbol of Kolkata, West Bengal. The Bridge was built using cantilevers over the Hooghly River in West Bengal. It was also named as Rabindra Setu in 1965, and this name was kept in honour of the famous Bengali poet Rabindranath Tagore.

It is 2150 feet long and has a suspended span that runs parallel to the Hooghly River. The bridge was built in 1943 and opened to the public in 1944. It is an excellent gateway to Kolkata, connecting it to the well-known Howrah station.
