The Kailasanathar Temple is located in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. Kailasanathar Temple in Kanchipuram is beautiful on all sides. This temple is one of the oldest hindu temple in india. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva. This old temple was built around 700 CE by the Pallava king Narasimhavarman II.

The temple’s name “Kailasanathar” means “Lord of Mount Kailash,” the heavenly abode of Shiva. The temple reflects Dravidian architecture. The temple is famous for its beautiful stone artwork, early mural paintings, and many old words that tell about the history and traditions of the area.

The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is built in a square shape. Because it is built with sandstone. The temple is made out of granite. It has a big entrance hall, a large gathering hall, and the main sanctum with a four-storey tower (Vimana) on top. Around the main temple, there are 58 small idols—seven outside and two inside—each showing different forms of Lord Shiva.

The outer walls of the temple have artwork of many gods, including different forms of Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Vishnu, Ganesha, and Kartikeya. The temple walls have beautiful stone artwork showing examples from Hindu stories.
