This temple is found in Madhya Pradesh, 81 kilometers from Indore, and is located along the holy Narmada River’s northern bank. Only one Jyotirlinga stands on the northern bank of the River Narmada.
Those who practice believe that Bhagwan Shiva takes respite in Omkareshwar after journeying to all worlds every moment. For this reason, unfamiliar sleeping routines are in place and special rituals are observed. In the temple, there is Shayan Darshan so that devotees can see Bhagwan Shiva at rest. Attending this darshan is very soothing and it makes one more devoted. Many pilgrims come here to pray and feel the divine presence of Mahadev.
