Rishikesh is a popular pilgrimage town in India located at just 23 KM from Haridwar in Uttarakhand state. It is famous for yoga education as there are many yoga centers and offers different courses being attend by many people every year. Rishikesh has also been famous for the adventure activities and has been a popular camping site for Indian as well as international travelers. The holy river Ganges also offers highly exhilarating white water rapids for the adventurous tourists.
Haridwar is the nearest railway station to Rishikesh and connected to all major cities through train. The city can be reached by bus through Delhi which is about 280 km away by road. Dehradun is the nearest airport and located at a distance of 45 km from Rishikesh.
There are multiple meditation centers and yoga schools in Rishikesh. It is also famous for the suspension bridges over the Ganges known as Laxman Jhoola and Ram Jhoola. The temples like the Kunjapuri Temple, Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, Parmarth Niketan Temple, Tera Manzil Temple, Rishikund Tank and Raghunath Temple can also be visited in Rishikesh
