Loktak lake is a must visit place in Northeast India which is famous for the Phumdis (a floating surface which is the combination of soil, vegetation & organic matter). Located near the Moirang city of Manipur state, Loktak is the largest freshwater lake in the Northeast region of India.

Accordingly to research published here, this glass fish species was found in Chindwin basin of the Loktak lake.
