Keoladeo National Park, Bharatpur, Rajasthan

Keoladeo national park is UNESCO world heritage center and a bird watcher paradise. Located in the state of Rajasthan, just 56KM from Agra, it is home to more than 375 bird species and a various other life forms recorded. Earlier this area was duck-hunting reserve of the Maharajas which is now preserved area and a home to migratory birds from Turkmenistan, China, Siberia and Afghanistan during winter season.

Your camera won’t stop clicking in this anterior duck-hunting reserve of the Maharajas. It is one among the major wintering areas for large numbers of water birds from Afghanistan, China,Siberia, and Turkmenistan. Around 375 species of birds, comprising the uncommon Siberian Crane, have been seen in the park.About 115 birdspecies breed in the park containing 15 water bird species.

Earlier it was known as the Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary and the only Indian park that is entirely bounded by a 2 mts high boundary wall minimizing the likelihoods of any infringement and biotic disorders.The nearest airport is Agra, 56 kms from Bharatpur. Systematic rail services connect Bharatpur with all the major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur and Agra. The Bharatpur Railway Station is about 5 kms from the park/bird sanctuary.
