About Anamudi peak

Anamudi peak is located in Anaimalai hills and at the height of 8842 ft from sea level. This mountain is the highest peak of western ghat as well as in South India. The meaning of Anamudi is 'elephant's forehead'. This place is famous for trekking where many trekking enthusiastic and adventure lovers visit during the year. You will see a large population of animals like Asian elephants, Nilgiri tahr, and Gaurs. Anamudi peak is an ideal place for photography and nature lovers.

How to reach Anamudi Peak

By Air

The Ernakulam airport is the closest to Anamudi Peak Munnar. And from here, you may rent a variety of AC and non-AC public and private transportation options.

By Rail

Aluva Railway station is the closest station. It is around 120 kilometres distant. Trains run on a regular basis from the major cities and smaller local places. Coimbatore (150 km), Ernakulam (120 km), and Madurai are among the other stations (170 km). You may then take a bus or a taxi to Munnar.

By Road

The road from Ernakulam to Munnar is excellent. Driving over the bends and turns of the magnificent Nilgiri Hills will be an unforgettable experience.

1. Trekking

Anamudi Peak Munnar is the best place for trekking enthusiasts, the two-hour walk to Anamudi Peak from Eravikulam National Park is a wonderful experience. There are additional camping areas in the region if you wish to enjoy the peak's views in the early morning or late evening.

2. Enjoying the Safari

The viewpoint of Anamudi Peak is a short bus ride from the national park entrance. You may also appreciate the gorgeous woodland cover while riding. Many animals, birds, and amphibians may be seen at Eravikulam National Park.
