Places I explored :

Rishikesh

My visit to Mainital was not planned as initially we planned our trip to Haridwar with family and friends. Initially we stayed at Haridwar for couple of days but due to limited places around we inquire to explore few more places. The local tour operator suggested Nainital as it was summer and he insists spending few days to Nainital. Then I did some search on Google and decided to spend few days there. We hired a car from Haridwar and started our journey to Nainital which is around 225KM and took 6 hours by road. Here is the map for your information:

If you love seeing wildlife, you can even visit Jim Corbett national park en-route, which is one of the most popular national park to protect Bengal tigers. Due to time constrain, we skipped this place reached Nainital early in the morning.

I would say it’s a beautiful hill station I have ever visited in India. Due to its unique characteristics i.e. on high hills location which is surrounded by nine lakes (NAI means nine and TALl means lacks, this is how it is called Nainital). The most beautiful and famous place to visit in Nainital is; Nainital lake which is also known as Naini Lake.

Our Stay at Nainital

Generally I pre-book the hotels when I am travelling with my family but this time, we could not book due to sudden plan. I feel lucky this time as I got a chance to explore different hotels on the bank of Naini Lake and got a good deal at Hotel Ambassador after bargain.

I still remember the beautiful view of lake from the gallery of my room. I enjoyed seating there exploring lake view and watching birds flying around. I was unique divine experience gave me peace and pleasure around nature. One of the best parts of my visit was the lovely weather; misty and beautiful. My young little girl was very much excited and keeps asking me that ”are we surrounded by cloud daddy?”

At evenings we went for boating in the lake as it is one of the most favorite activities of my 8 years old daughter.

Places we Visited in Nainital

We hired a cab for 2 days visited various places like Bhimtal, Navkuchiya tal, Khurpa tal, Sattal, Sukha tal around Nainital. Boating at Navkuchiya tal was one of the best experience. We were surrounded by greenish water in a boat in entirely peaceful environment. Entire surrounding was lush green…Long sky touching trees and singing birds flying… I can even feel the excitement now when I recall those days! Just amazing!

Eco cave garden was a place where my daughter enjoyed a lot! There are six caves made out of large stones under land surface. When you go deeper in to caves its very cold…you feel like you are in to cold storage and paths are very smalls made of uneven big stones. It was almost dark there, we used to see path with cell phone lights. This adventure was like as we were stuck in some big cave in ice age. My daughter enjoyed all caves thoroughly while my wife was little scared of this cave.

Naini peak was a wonderful scenic point in Nainital; you can see the panoramic view of the city I clicked from this peak. We can see entire city surround by a lake looking in to Mango shape. My wife was very much exited of this place and clicked so many photos.

There was Tibetan market near our hotel from where we did some shopping of woolen clothes, jackets at very reasonable rate. Last day, I along with my wife and daughter spent almost 4 hours at bank of Nainital Lake doing nothing and enjoyed the beauty of heaven on earth. Most of the time we, we just sat silently breathing peace of environment.

In-short, it was the best trips we ever had and we will definitely go to Nainital again.
