Rajaji National Park, Haridwar, Uttarakhand

Rajaji National Park is in the Uttarakhand state of India. It is spread over in 820.42 sqkms of area. You can see more than 500 Elephants, 12 Tigers, and 250 Panthers with equally good victim base comprising Spotted Deer, Sambhar, Wild Boar, Barking Deer, and Goral with two kinds of Bears Himalayan Black and Sloth, along with over 400 bird species. It is located alongside the knolls and slopes of Shiwalik ranges in the Himalayan hills. Merging three sanctuaries, that is Chilla, Motichur and Rajaji - Rajaji National Park is spread over the Pauri Garwal, Dehradun and Saharanpur districts of Uttarakhand.

It is open for tourists only from Mid-November to Mid-June with the entry fee of Rs.150/- in case of Indians for a visit of around 3 hours. Foreigners are charged differently. You can hire a Gypsy from the park gate @ Rs.2000/- whereas vehicle entry charges for Indians in Rs.250/-. The park is opened from 6AM to 9AM and 3PM to 6PM for visit. You do not have to pay for still cameras. You can also stay in the Wild Brook Retreat in the park, which is an initiative by Eco-Tourism.

You can reach from Delhi by trains like Shatabdi, Jan Shatabdi and Mussourie Express.
